About Bomet County

Bomet County is located in Kenya's South Rift region, bordering Kericho, Narok, Nyamira and Nakuru counties. Bomet Town is the county headquarters. The county is characterized by fertile highlands, rolling hills, rivers and a cool climate suitable for agriculture. The Kipsigis community forms the majority of the population. Tea is the leading cash crop, while dairy farming, maize, potatoes, horticulture and poultry also contribute significantly to the economy. Rich Kalenjin traditions are preserved through music, dance and oral history.
